Cord cutting Cable saved me over $100 a month with Hulu Live/Netflix/Amazon
I was locked into Comcast’s monopoly for quite sometime. My cable bill was over $240 a month including internet service.
I had to cancel my overpriced TV service but continue to use Comcast’s internet for about $60 a month. I have searched around for months and finally found Hulu launched a live TV service for $40 a month with over 40 channels, The package includes most Fox, Disney(ABC/ESPN), NBC channels & their news networks. Services such as 3+ device streaming, DVR & HBO are optional for a small fee. We expect Hulu to increase its exclusive content from these networks & work less with competitors like Netflix. Alot more is to happen in the coming years of Hulu with Disney becoming the largest stakeholder. Disney is purchasing Fox & will hold A 60% ownership stake of Hulu, NBC will still hold a 30% & Time Warner (“ATT”) 10% stake. I think Hulu is being overlooked and was a key factor in why Disney purchased Fox. Having live TV & the exclusive content from the traditional television networks can make Hulu a solid competitor to Netflix. Hulu will also be streaming the premium movie library of Disney/Fox and the other Hulu partners.
But back what I did to cut the cord. I had purchased Smart TVs that included Roku for every room of my house to make streaming easy from anywhere in the house. Streaming with Hulu, Netflix & Prime Video tends to get me all the content I would get from cable & more. My house no longer has bulky cable boxes and coax cable run all over my home. Installation was simple just plug the tv in & connect to your wireless network. After Including my Netflix($15), Hulu Live TV($40) & Internet ($60), I’m still saving over $100 a month over my previous cable subscription. I highly encourage others to see for themselves the benefits of cord cutting.
